RHP Dimitri Camareno (1-3) made his team leading sixth start
of the season for the Broncos.
Unfortunately for Camareno, he would last only three batters. He allowed a single to Ron Fenwick and
an RBI triple to Levy Ventura before being pulled from the game with a slight
shoulder strain. Michael Lucas
(2-2) came on in relief and allowed an RBI single to give the Thunder a 2-0
lead after one inning.
The Broncos offense recorded just two hits through the first
six innings against RHP Ryan Foss (1-2), making his third start for the
Thunder.
In the bottom of the fourth with runners on second and third
and two out second baseman Ron Fenwick hit a two run single to extend the
Thunder lead to 4-0 after four full innings.
In the bottom of the sixth with one out Mike Lewis hit a
triple for the Thunder. The throw
to third base from Diaz got away and allowed Lewis to score on the error to
make the score 5-0 Thunder after six full innings.
LHP Vinnie Dechristofaro (0-3) came in to relieve Lucas with
one out in the bottom of the sixth.
Dechristofaro retired the side in the sixth. In the seventh the Thunder added one more run to their
lead. With two out Alex Fernandez
singled, then Albert Gonzalez walked. Kevin Butler lined a single into right
field to plate Fernandez and give the Thunder a 6-0 lead.
The Broncos would never score against Thunder starter Ryan
Foss. He threw 6.2 innings, allowing just three hits; he walked three and
struck out five.
Foss was replaced by Jared Sutton in the seventh with two
out. The Broncos in the top of the
eighth would plate their first run. Diaz started the inning with a single and
Ben Wolgamot picked up his fifth RBI of the season by knocking in Diaz with an
RBI double to make the score 6-1 Thunder.
RHP Raul Trevino came on in the ninth and allowed a walk and
an infield single but in the end he struck out the side to secure the 6-1
Thunder win.
